KECAK DANCE AT ULUWATU
The Kecak Dance Uluwatu is one of the most famous traditional cultural performances in Bali. The dance is performed every evening at the cliffside amphitheater near Uluwatu Temple with a spectacular sunset over the Indian Ocean as the background.
Kecak Dance tells the story of the Hindu epic Ramayana, especially the journey of Prince Rama, Princess Shinta, Hanuman, and the battle against Rahwana. Unlike other Balinese dances, Kecak uses rhythmic chanting of “cak-cak-cak” by dozens of male performers instead of musical instruments.
